<lj:music>Engine Sentai Go-Onger Opening</lj:music>

Well today has been good so far. I got to see my bf this morning. Even if just for a short time it was worth it. The tax news wasn't good as it seems I really am only getting a little back in regards to taxes this year but I will survive I guess. No ebay shopping spree for me. But today I got my new laptop cord (my previous one officially bit the dust last friday) as well as Stratos from the Masters of the Universe Classics line. I told my bf I would wait until he was there to open it. This is a good test of patience for me....can I handle it??

Also yesterday I went back to Meijers but not the Meijers in Lancaster I went to the one in Canal, ran into an old friend who introduced me to the GM 40 hour manager and I proceeded to wow the guy with my work experience. He told me to fill out an app and I did. Today I got a call from them asking for an interview which I was more than happy with scheduling as I have to get a job that will pay decently and Meijers will amen for Unions helping out its members. So everyone keep their fingers crossed that the interview goes well. So have a great day guys!

Farewell Queen of Eternia and Mother of He-Man.....

    <lj:music>I Have The Power-Ericka Scheimer</lj:music>

Today started off on a good note. I slept in, started the day off by logging on bear to chat with some friends, checked my email and downloaded this hilarious video that my partner sent me, jammed out to some tunes on my Zune and then got a suprise visit by my partner. It was a few short minutes but it was worth it. Then I came back to the computer and logged onto the .org only to find some terrible news. Jay Scheimer, wife of Lou Scheimer and mother of Erika Scheimer has passed away. After reading this my day is shot. Of all the people that have passed away in my life Kevin up to this day was the only person I ever cried about when I found out. The others that passed, yeah I cried but not until the funeral when it hit me. Some of you may be wondering who these people are that I am mentioning but Lou and Erika Scheimer are two of the many people that poured their hearts and souls into the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons and as many know He-Man and She-Ra was more than a cartoon for me. For those that do not know and are curious go to my memories and read the "To Defend a Hero " post.

Jay was not as involved in He-Man/She-Ra as much as Erika and Lou. She on occasion would voice Queen Marlena Glenn of the Earth Pro Valiant, mother of Prince Adam and wife of Randor King of Eternia. However it was her that supported Lou in getting the license to do a He-Man cartoon and it was her that supported him in doing everything he put his magic touch on. I can not imagine how Lou and Ericka feel but I know I've been crying my eyes out and smoking like a freight train I don't even really know why either. I wanted to meet them all and tell them my story about how He-Man and She-Ra left such an impact on me but now the only two I have any chance of ever meeting are Lou and Erika. I knew Jay was a sweet woman from her time on the documentries and I wanted to go up to her shake her hand and thank her for supporting Lou and Erika with He-Man and She-Ra as well a giving her a heart felt hug that I'm known to be very good at giving.

I guess all I can do now is keep Lou and Erika in my thoughts and prayers. Jay was a wonderful woman and I'm sure she will watch over the two of them in spirit. She and Lou were together for 56 years so that has to count for something. Rest in Peace Jay. You touched more lives than you might realize. And thank you for touching mine.

I had my choices but there was only one concert that stuck out to me.The Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick concert. I can't wait. I love Journey it should be a good time. However Luke's purpose for coming here is to be my best man. He has been a good friend of mine since way back when before I had the huge toy collection I have now. We'll have plenty of time to be geeks but we have to moderate it as his partner is a geek like Luke and I are. But all in all this weekend will be interesting let's see how big of a bridezilla or is that groomzilla I can become. Tonight should be interesting considering that we are all going to go see The Dark Knight because Ron is such a fanboy.... But that's all for now. Have a good day and I'll see some of you soon!

I think I posted a little to early yesterday as there must have been something going on cosmically that gave me a good day a very good day. I mean I got that Fantasy Filly that is beyond rare to the point I am the only collector that has one. I won some things on ebay that shocked the hell out of me. And Ron and I had some great sex. I'm talking OMG my knees are shaking, I'm dizzy good. W00T! But enough about that let me show you all what I got on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120269064975&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=002

One of the two transformers I want. The other one is just a repaint of this one. Years ago for some reason these ponies were going for up $100 I'm glad I waited.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170224725518&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=007

I only got this for the Unicorn. She is a beaut and she'll look great along side my Fantasy Fillies. And now for the final and best piece:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250255427885&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=015

This cel is of Spinnerella from She-Ra well d'uh I mean you guys can read. But why did this go for so much? Most cels I have purchased run around $10-20. I can tell you. Out of all 93 episodes of She-Ra Princess of Power this character only showed up in one episode. This is also the first time cels of this character have ever been put up for sale on ebay. I am considering myself very lucky and very grateful I could not fall asleep last night because I was so nervous I would lose it. This character has some special meaning to me but that is a story for another time. Well I am off for now everyone. Have a good day!

And I did do something different today. I walked off the job! The past few weeks I have been working with Ron at the sub shop to help out when others can't and what have you. But things took an ugly turn today that made me do what I did.

Some new guys took over the sub shop a few weeks before I started there. They seemed nice. I swear up and down that one bats on Ron and I's side of the field... in fact he kinda looked like an old fuck buddy of mine. Anyways after they took over some...changes occured. These guys run a boatload of Ben and Jerry's ice cream places throughout the state of Ohio. So we started selling Ben and Jerry's there. However a few days after these guys take over Ron's medical insurance is canceled! Which is odd..... and today the worst happened. Ron and I were both going to work tonight and Ron decided to see into how the store was doing by checking the cameras. Someone neither of us had seen was there. So Ron got the 411 on this guy. Apparently this guy is a "new" manager in training for one of our new locations opening soon. Whatever! We go to work to find out he was fired because he's too expensive of an employee to keep. So they fired him. By this time I had clocked in rung someone up and was helping someone make subs. When Ron and the owners were done with their meeting I asked him what happened only to find out that what Ron was dreading was the case and I had made up my mind that if they fired Ron I would walk out. And I did. Had they said anything to me it would have been very ugly.

So what happens next? Relax. Ron is taking the time to get the house together for selling so we can move back down near Columbus. He cancelled the home phone which we never use and trimmed the cable. Which means after I was getting so used to it....no more Boomerang which means no more Thundarr and Centurions. WAAH! Oh well....I will survive for as long as I know how to love I know I'll stay alive! Okay that was my gay moment for the day. Well I am off guys I have to be getting ready for bed here soon.
I'm okay... ow.... my wallet....ow is... ow.... another thing. Collecting is a great hobby and it's always a great day when a collection is completed. I've had this happen with She-Ra Princess of Power and New Adventures of He-Man. It's odd maybe bittersweet is a good word to use. I mean it's like yeah it's nice getting a complete collection but at the same time the hunt it over and sometimes hunting is all the fun. I now have a third collection to add to that: My Little Pony Dream Beauties.

All in all Hasbro made 18 different Dream Beauties. They advertised them as Grown Up My Little Ponies. They're bigger than a My Little Pony, made of hard plastic not the soft plastic like the normal ponies and more realistic. Out of the entire collection there are only 6 that I wanted the Shimmering Dream Beauties, glittery see through horses, and High Flying Dream Beauties, the pegasus Dream beauties, sadly there were no unicorns in the Dream Beauty line. Though those would have been awesome. Tonight I won and paid for the last of the Dream Beauties for my collection. One can tell that its tax return season as this is the time when collectibles go for insane amounts as people have more money to spend right now. I was one of those people I got my tax return today. Another reason that this auction went for a crazy amount is the hair. Sure it seems insignificant but this Dream Beauty has a color of pink hair that is notorious for fading to white. In my collection I have a few of them that have the fading pink hair which os now white. In customizers terms the hair color is called Pink Pussycat. So for a toy that is 20+ years old that is prone to fading hair to still have it's original color it can go nuts. Now imagine a My Little Pony with curled hair. That gets ugly! Anyways here she is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300216723437&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=020

So let's see $40 for Wind Walker, $60 for Skyflyer and $110 for Glider. Based on actual values Wind Walker should have been $100-120, Skyflyer $60 and $60 for Glider. So the total I paid was $210 and the actual values somewhere between $220-240. I didn't do all that bad I guess.

Well I went to the toy show with my priority list. The list was compiled of many different toy lines I collect. Some of the pieces were collection completers others were just toys that are hard to come by and expensive. With some of those that is putting it lightly. Ron and I got to the toy show a few minutes before they opened up. By the time we got to the line they had started letting people in. The two kids in front of us were annoying the hell out of me. We walked in and went from lane to lane one side at a time. Some stuff surprised the hell out of me either by the fact that someone had it or the fact that the price the dealer was asking was ridiculous.Somewhere in there I picked up Screech from the Classic He-Man line. I managed to run into someone who was a member of the My Little Pony Arena that was neat. Never had that happen before. We talked ponies for a while. I ended up buying two off of her. After that I went back to the first booth I went to originally. Why? They had some very nice He-Man products that I wanted by the time it was over I think I spent almost $50 at the guys booth. The pieces I got from him were the Slime Pit and the Mantisaur again from the classic He-Man line. A few booths up some woman was there with some really random stuff. But because of her I now have a My Little Pony nursery. And now I have to see about finding room for it. The last piece I got was a HUUUGE! Voltron figure. It's so big that the little actions figures they made back in the 80s can fit in the lions. The downside is I should have looked at it better as the previous owner had poured super glue all over one spot on the Black Lion and while trying to figure it out a piece of the Black Lion broke. That shouldn't be too difficult to replace especially considering I will be getting my tax return later this week! W00T! I just have to remember not to go crazy with it.

The ride home was eventful to say the least. Something seems to be wrong with Ron's Tiburon as it is down shifting way too soon and as such it is causing the car to be herky jerky. However on the plus side the car is still under warranty so Ron's plans tomorrow will be going to the dealer and getting this situation take care of. Now I must be off as I have a serious headache. Hope you all had a good weekend. And for those living in Cbus I can't wait to see you again when I'm down for Pride! Hugs to you all!

That was a bidding war. Especially in the last few seconds. I managed to get by with only a flesh wound. But it was worth it. I now have two of the three High Flying Dream Beauties from the My Little Pony line. Just one more left to go. Hopefully she comes around when I get my tax refund. This cuts into my spending at the toy show in Columbus but oh well these girls don't show up as often as some other toys I still have to get for my toy collection. Besides there is a slim to no chance I will see any My Little Ponies at the toy show let alone a Dream Beauty. I know what I need to keep an eye out for in Columbus and hopefully I can get some goo deals. Anyways here's the girl I just won!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110241359126&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=001

I love Fantasy Fillies and fortunately I have all the pegasi and unicorns. That makes me happy. But I hate to say it I'm not satisfied. There should have been more. A lot more. There should have been foals to go with the girls. There should have been winged unicorns. So creativity and luck hit me. I found some bait Grand Champions, the original line from which Fantasy Fillies originally came from, at a thrift store. I then lucked out and went to Marc's and found some acrylic paint at a very inexpensive rate 3 for $1. After getting home I got to work. I decided to call the collection Fantasy Foals as the ones I have used so far have been male Grand Champions. Yes you can tell if a toy horse is male or female. They are all themed after something. So far I have made ones based on Night and Ice. There are two more in the works based on Thunderstorms and Fire. After I find some more poor condition GCs, I plan on making ones based on the forest and the moon. Anyways here are the first two.

This is Denuit (pro. Denewit) he was the first one I decided to make. His name means "Of Night" in French. Painting wasn't hard at all on him. The hardest thing for me to take care of was the wings. The wings are from a cannibalized King Ghidorah. When I got the thing I cut off the pegs that had originally kept them in place so I had to work a lot harder getting them in place when I took the pegs off so it got interesting.

I love his eyes.

This is Aquilo (Ah kee lo), the pegasus of Ice, named after the Roman god of the North Wind. I would have named him Borealis but decided against it. The paint job is interesting isn't it? It was a complete accident. I wanted to try spray painting him but it was too thin so I ended up painting it with normal paint and, the two paints, the watered down and the normal, worked well together. The hardest thing to do was paint the wings as they had to be painted over numerous times. I hated it. It was so frustrating.

The snow flakes were from scrapbooking stickers. Yes there is a sealant coat over them so they don't come off.
